Sauron utilizes the Twitter API to render tweets from major news organizations on a map.
Defunct - Twitter has dismantled the API, breaking this small side-project of mine. It was one of my favorites. :(
Imagine the map has hundreds of markers with information about breaking news events, and pops up with new ones as they occur. It was really cool! I left it running on the TV in my research lab for a little while and it was really awesome to watch.
